❤ I have started a new book club locally where I live in Cambridgeshire; basically we meet up, drink wine (well, tea for me as I am still not drinking), and chinwag in a lovely pub. Last month we reviewed Room and Fifty Shades…which really couldn’t be two more disparate books. I have been gifted this lovely Melinda Mulcahy bookmark which I love, perfect for keeping the pages of this month’s Hunger Games book. Melinda Mulcahy makes lovely handmade bespoke keepsakes using precious materials, and the gifts can all be personalised to make a really bespoke gift. What do you think? ❤ As a synaesthate I love this new idea by Lush: Emotional Brilliance. The concept works beyond fashion trends and seasons to drive us to choose colours we are drawn to. By spinning the Emotional Brilliance Colour Wheel you get a personalised colour reading; you can then choose the three colours that stand out to you at that time. Your first colour choice symbolises your STRENGTH OR WEAKNESS; your second choice represents your SUBCONSCIOUS NEED; while your third choice is your TALENT and it is what you require to achieve your subconscious need. All the colours are linked to certain words that also reveal a little something about your current state of mind. By aligning colour and personal psychological needs we can all then wear the colours we need to feel great, on any different day. Emotional Brilliance was developed by Lush Co-Founder Rowena Bird who says “I love lipstick, but why wasn’t one great colour ever enough, why was I drawn to a particular one on different days or even sometimes feel the need to change colour part way through a day? After chatting with like minded lipstick junkies, it struck us that it wasn’t about what clothes we were wearing but more about how we were feeling and so the idea was born”.
Liquid Lips, Liquid Eyeliners and Cream Eyeshadows are £14.50 each, and I love the three that I have; the gold Fantasy eyeshadow is perfect as an eyeliner and the orange Vibrance makes a gorgeous Summer lip shade. Have you seen these in Lush stores yet? Would you try them out? Let me know your three colours!
