The Mini Divas leave home!

the mini divas

….kind of.

That day is a looong way away yet thankfully, but I have broken away with a second blog for the parenting, family and childhood aspects of my blogging.
Head over to The Mini Divas, where you will find a smug-free non-mummy blog just sprouting, and of course stay here for creativity, entrepreneuial stuff, fashion, beauty, endo and geeky chic as per usual.

Hope to see you over there too if it lights your candle, but if it’s not your thang I am pleased you can stay here and not be over Diva-ed.

Colourful creativity,

Dex Diva

Tag post – Top Five 5 things about Twins!

Posted on: Monday, November 14, 2011

As most regular readers know I am a blogger and a mum, but I wouldn’t describe myself as a mummy blogger.
I talk about all sorts here on Dexterous Diva; my health, endometriosis, running, creativity, fashion, beauty, tech, random stuff; it’s all part of my life, and it’s how I like to write. I do love to share about life with the Mini Divas, my beloved two year old twins, although nappies and small people stuff is not my mainstay. Read More >

No brainer

Posted on: Thursday, May 19, 2011

I don’t claim to have been the most intelligent woman in my prime (for prime, read “before kids and sleep deprivation”), but it’s safe to say I did have some brain cells, I am pretty sure.

I managed teams of people, projects, budgets and everything. Honest, guv.

So why couldn’t I work out £10 minus £1.50 yesterday at the toddler group, much to my frustration?

I am shocked at how quickly the adage “use it or lose it”  steps in. My brain is used for a portion of the week at work, while the remaining slice, although by FAR the most important job I do, is mummydom. I am failing to challenge my brain on a daily basis, and crikey it’s scarey.

I listen to Radio 4 when washing up (channelling my mother as I go), to try and cram some form of adult vocaubulary into a day which is otherwise spent chasing kids around a church hall full of toys or hoovering for the 90th time.

I can see why women lose their confidence in motherhood. It’s a whole new job, and an infinitely wonderful and important one at that, but we need to keep the grey matter from rotting. I can’t give to my kids if I have turned into mush myself.

Don’t even get me started on Loose Women. I am sure the drainage they put on the nation’s intelligence is the root of all evil.

What say you?
