This is probably my only London Fashion week mention on the blog, but I LOVE these PPQ RULE Supreme Style Bikes which appeared on the runway at PPQ on Friday. Stick one on my Mother’s Day wishlist, I can definitely see me cycling around Cambridge on one of those! ❤ Penguin 75 is a beautiful book of the journey a book cover goes through before being approved, with comments from Art Editors, Designers and Authors. Stunning imagery and witty responses, excellently curated by Paul Buckley, long time art editor of Penguin. ❤ The Design Museum’s Designs of the Year expo is a must-see, (the comedy carpet by Why Not Associates shown here), and contains 89 nominations for cultural icons of design from 2011. Patrick Thomas, Heart Roundel #01 appears here just because it’s beautiful and caught my eye this week. Available on Outline Editions.

Winter colour palette: freebies
Posted on: Sunday, January 22, 2012
I have a love/hate relationship with Winter. The bright, crisp days I love; the sludgy, cold and grotty days not so much. Today was a grotty weather day, so I turned to some old pics from a January photowalk at Anglesey Abbey near where I live in Cambridge. It’s nice to see that nature gives us some lovely vibrant colours amongst the grey drizzle sometimes, and I love the show of green shoots just on show at the bottom, like a promise of Spring.
I have also created a little Photoshop layered file for you to download and play with to use as a colour palette. Just insert your own pics and use the eyedropper tool to select your colours for the palette shapes. The text is rasterised. It’s sometimes nice to just have an easy to use and refer to template to make the most of lovely pics you might have to inspire you and post on your blog etc.❤
You are welcome to download, use and have fun following these t’s and c’s. All I ask is that you “like” first, then the link will appear! x
Cherry Bites and workshop
Posted on: Thursday, April 28, 2011
Many of you will know me as Director of Cherry Sorbet Creative, my other role away from mummydom/online writing and blogging.
It has been a busy time for Cherry Sorbet recently, with our very first Cherry Bites Lunch and Cyber Savvy workshop happening in the last 2 weeks.
I realised too that I am very well connected in London but not locally with people from the fashion, beauty and lifestyle industries so I started a Cambridge version – Cherry Bites Coffee in Cambridge. I would love to meet anyone I don’t already know at one of these events so come along!
