Art notes: save London Printworks Trust and sort Christmas

Posted on: Wednesday, December 21, 2011

art notes

If you are a creative individual, love artwork, prints and illustrations or know someone who does, this is the perfect gift with a conscience.

The fabulous London Printworks Trust is currently facing a 100% cut to their funding. For 2 years, the Brixton based printworks has been centre of excellence for textile print and is an established charity to encourage artists both emerging and established, to develop and fulfil their creative potential.

The Executive Director of London Printworks Trust is the wonderful Lorna Dallas-Conte, a very good friend of mine since she was my course leader for my MA at LCC a few years ago. Lorna sent me the heartbreaking news that LPT is facing complete cuts, but they have a method to raise enough money to keep going.

The Counter Feat project is literally printing money for the cause, playing on longstanding forgery c0nnotations within the print industry. These ‘Art Notes’ are  creations by friends of the trust and famous faces such as Victoria Beckham, Will Broome, Zandra Rhodes, Hemingway Design and a glittering array of other famous names. The notes are available in £10, £20 and £50 notes, and each will be a face value donation to the cause,

An amazing gift for Christmas that will go towards a deserving arts charity, get clicking for some last minute gifts with social benefits.

Mini Divas

Having the Mini Divas is a journey of ups and downs, banana covered carpets and a house resembling a crime scene.

It is full of love, warmth and learning too – for me as well as them. Those little ladies bring me so much joy, and some reminders of what is important in life.

This is what I learn from my daughters: Read More >
